Remember when all those people were hitting buildings and stores last summer? And remember someone actually killed a family at CheeBurger CheeBurger by driving straight into it on accident? No? Well, it happened. And in response, many businesses put in their own defenses:
The Parking Barrier
Lets break this down real quick. Everyone knows that parking lots are the MOST dangerous places to be driving. (kind of funny that we train young drivers in parking lots huh?). This driver probably was swinging the car around with their head looking to the side to make sure no cars were coming. Only to overlook the path in front of them.
Keeping your head on a swivel is so important when driving. It can keep you from having accidents like this. But this person must have been doing AT LEAST 30 mph to jump that barrier.
It looks like this was not the first time someone has hit those parking barriers. Look at the way they are all bent in with paint missing from the far right one. I dont know what that pipe is for, in the middle of the that protective triangle of barriers but it must be pretty important! Also, whoever designed that parking lot was crazy. I hope the parking lot was expanded at some point and built around that existing pipe because if not, then that is the poorest placement of a pipe I've ever seen!
I cant blame the driver though. I've struck a light pole in a parking lot before...it was just a minor thing though. no damage. minor damage. ok I totaled the car. Are you happy now!
